Global church in Germany - immigration is opportunity

'Mauerfall' - November 1989

This project is a survey of the pastoral challenges arising from immigration in Germany. We ask: how can we create opportunities for the native or newly settled Catholics to recognize each other as brothers and sisters of the one global church?

After looking at the church proclamations on this topic we employ qualitative and empirical enquiries to point out any difficulties for uniting German Christians as one community. Furthermore the results will be summarized and reflected from a theological perspective. This twofold approach shall provide a broad basis for a general suggestion for appropriate action.
