This project is a discussion of pastoral challenges that come with migration. The Catholic Church in Germany faces this challenge. More specifically - what circumstances can be created to make migration an opportunity for native and immigrated Catholics to recognize each other as brothers and sisters of the same global church?

Following an overview of the relevant episcopal statements, potential possibilities and also problems of the Christian objective shall be outlined using research that is empirical as well as qualitative.

The resuslts of this study will then be translated into theological notions and reflected as such. By way of this dual approach we can be confident to to arrive at a solid foundation that lets us make a well informed suggestion of action.
